For more information and for the complete article please visit the following link: www.horizonhobby.com Getting involved with RC cars and trucks is an exciting time, especially now. There are so many different vehicle types, classes, sizes and shapes that the ways to get involved with the hobby are almost endless. Taking those first steps can be somewhat challenging with so much to learn. Never fear, as just about anyone can be successful with an RC car or truck. For those of us who have been around forever-and-a-day we may forget how many things we had to learn to get where we are now. What exactly is this big straw that came with my car for? What battery does my truck need? And why does the car go left when I am clearly turning right??? We’ve all been there, felt those growing pains and learned from our mistakes. We’re hoping to help make your introduction into RC a little easier with some basic tips and tricks. We explain how to get up and running, what you’ll need to get up and running, how the control works and more.Questions? Comments? @xXstealth95 First and foremost would be to get the grades up and study hard. You’ll use a lot of math, science, flow-charting and more with RC, all of which you’ll learn in school

@nts213 It would be 32 pitch, not 36, just a heads up. You would need both spur and pinion gears to be able to do that. Honestly I wouldn’t recommend it. Most 1/10-scale vehicles are perfectly fine with 48-pitch gears.

Hello horizon my buggy spur is 48p and i want to change it to 36p can i do that if yes how.

  8. HorizonRCdotCom July 29, 2010 5:01 pm

You have telescoping driveshafts, not axles. As I replied on your other post check to make sure your tires are still glues up to the wheels properly too, that could cause an issue.

  9. Midgetkilla48 July 29, 2010 5:04 pm

@hondazaynefun the axles on my truck are the telescoping ones tho

  10. hondazaynefun July 29, 2010 5:37 pm

@Midgetkilla48 your axles might be bent or it could be normal post a video and i might try to help you

@HorizonRCdotCom i have another question, when i run the motor on my traxxas rustler the entire truck sorta vibrates, i tried tightening the wheels but it still vibrates. is this normal?

  12. joe0wnzu July 29, 2010 6:11 pm

yh right in front of the servo where it is kicked up i was racing as normal and landed on the nose not going fast all stock eletrics no high and snapped

  13. HorizonRCdotCom July 29, 2010 6:31 pm

@joe0wnzu Towards the front of the truck? Right in front of the servo and where the chassis is kicked up?

  14. joe0wnzu July 29, 2010 7:09 pm

    I SNAPPED MY SC10 IN 2 TODAY =[

  15. nts213 July 29, 2010 7:29 pm

Thank you im gonna do that.

  16. HorizonRCdotCom July 29, 2010 8:28 pm

Drop a couple more teeth on the pinion or go up on the spur. You could possibly install an external fan on the ESC too.

  17. nts213 July 29, 2010 9:10 pm

Im back need you again my motor is cool but my ESC and battery is roasting im running a 78 spur and a 21 pinion what should i do.

  18. HorizonRCdotCom July 29, 2010 9:10 pm

Is it a brushed or brushless ESC? If brushless is it a sensorless ESC? If so just swap two of the wires between the motor and ESC and it should be fine. You may also need to flip the throttle reversing switch on your transmitter too.

  19. nts213 July 29, 2010 10:09 pm

Hey horizonRC i need your help i installed a ESC and motor in my car i soldered deans on it cut it on the car keep going backwards so i cut radio on it stops now when i sqeeze the throttle it only goes bakwards what can i do.
